Do AirPods work with Samsung Phones? Considering the cosmic rise in popularity of the AirPods, many Samsung smartphone users often ask this question. The simple answer to this question is – YES! Yes, AirPods work with Samsung phones, and the method for making the two work together is very simple.

Let us find out how you can make AirPods work with your Samsung smartphone with ease.

Ensure that AirPods is Fully Charged

This is the first thing that you need to do. Believe it or not, many people end up complaining that the AirPods don’t work with Samsung phones, while in reality, they fail to charge the AirPods properly.

So, it is imperative for you to ensure that the AirPods are fully charged before you attempt to make them work with your Samsung phone.

Put AirPods in Pairing Mode

Once you have ensured that the AirPods are fully charged, you need to put them in pairing mode. For this to happen, you need to place the AirPods in the charging case. Once you do that, flip open the case.

Now find the small white button at the rear end of the case. Press and hold the button for 3 seconds.

Doing so will make the status light flash white. This is when you will know that the AirPods are in pairing mode and are all set for connection with your Samsung phone.

Turn on the Bluetooth on Your Samsung Phone

Because AirPods can only connect with a phone wirelessly, you need to turn on the Bluetooth on your Samsung phone.

There are two ways you can do that. Those methods are mentioned below.

Method 1 to Turn on Bluetooth – Use Settings App

Unlock your Samsung phone and go to the home screen of the phone. Once there, follow the steps mentioned below:

  • Step 1: Swipe up from the home screen to pull up the apps drawer and locate the Settings app.
  • Step 2: Tap on the app to open the settings panel where you can find the option ‘Connections.’ Tap on it to get the connection options. Locate the Bluetooth option.
  • Step 3: Once you locate the Bluetooth option, you can see the toggle switch. Tap on the switch to turn it on. Also, ensure that the ‘Phone Visibility’ option is toggled on.
  • Step 4: Once you turn on the Bluetooth, you will find an option called ‘Scan’ on the top righthand corner of the screen. Tap on it.
  • Step 5: Once you tap on the ‘Scan’ option, the phone will scan for any nearby Bluetooth device. Since your AirPods are already in pairing mode, you can see them listed under ‘Available devices.’

Method 2 to Turn on Bluetooth – Use Quick Connection

Unlock your Samsung phone and go to the home screen of the phone. Once there, follow the below-mentioned steps to turn on Bluetooth:

  • Step 1: On home screen swipe down from the top of the screen. This will pull down the quick access settings.
  • Step 2: Locate the Bluetooth icon in the quick settings panel and tap on it to turn on Bluetooth.
  • Step 3: Tap and hold the Bluetooth icon to pull up the Bluetooth settings screen. Locate the ‘Scan’ option on the top righthand corner of the phone screen.
  • Step 4: Tap on the ‘Scan’ option. This will make the phone scan for any available device. Since your AirPods are already in pairing mode, they will now show up under the ‘Available devices’ section.

Connect Your AirPods with Your Phone

Now that your AirPods and your Samsung phone are both in pairing mode, you need to go ahead and pair them. For this, follow the steps mentioned below:

  • Step 1: Tap on the AirPods option you see on your phone’s screen under the ‘Available devices’ list.
  • Step 2: This will show the connection screen with a ‘Connect’ button. You may see a code on your phone screen. Since AirPods cannot show the code (as there is no screen on AirPods), simply go ahead and tap on the ‘Connect’ button.
  • Step 3: Once you tap on the ‘Connect’ button, you may see an ‘Ok’ button popping up. Tap on it to go ahead with the connection.

That’s all!
